In a Tuesday, March 1, e-mail blast, the Sno Valley Senior Center in Carnation encouraged residents to contact the King County Council about renewing the $12 million Veterans and Human Services levy.

The senior center received $25,000 from King County this year, including some from the Veterans and Human Services levy. This levy is set to expire at the end of the year, and the county council is gathering input from citizens on the possibility of renewing the levy. If the council wants to renew the levy, it still must be approved by voters in the Aug. 16 primary or Nov. 8 general election.
