Hawks fall to Pine Lake

The Chief Kanim Middle School Hawks seventh and eighth grade varsity basketball teams both lost hard fought games last Monday, March 1, to visiting Pine Lake Middle School teams.

The Hawks seventh grade team played a strong three quarters but struggled in the second quarter. The Pine Lake lead was too much to overcome.

The eighth grade varsity boys lost a nail-biter by two points to an extremely tall and tough Wolverine team. Coaches said they were porud of the boys’ efforts.

Seventh grade standouts included Curtis Handy with 26 points and 10 rebounds, Cade Reneker with 12 points, Royce Schwartzenberger with six points, Will Raymond with two points and Troy Chriest with two points.

Eighth grade stars included Jameson Showers with 10 points, Jack Hunt with 10 points, Jackson Nelson with 9 points, Jake Archambeau with four points, Alex Dolewski with two points, Quinn Oster with two points, Jordan Chapman with two points, Ethan Seneker with one point and Chris Annette with one point.
