‘Cats lose to Roosevelt

The Mount Si girls “C” soccer team had the honor of baptizing the new athletic complex with the first soccer game last week. The Roosevelt Roughriders came away with the win, 2-0.

Neither team scored in the first half. Although the Wildcats had a number of great attacks, the ball just didn’t go into the net.

The Wildcats were short on eligible players so three players from JV (Sarah Lewis, Kelsey Wise and McKenzie Ortego) volunteered to play for the “C” team and their help was invaluable.

Sara Hilleary and Annie McLemore had an especially strong game on defense and also sparked attacks from their defensive positions. Alex Eisenberg and Kelsey Tarp shared the duties in the goal and each played well.

‘Cats defeat Totems

The Mount Si “C” volleyball team raised their overall record to 2-0 with a dominating victory over the visiting Sammamish Totems. The scores were 25-20, 25-11 and 15-8.

Caitlyn Forslin followed closely with 10 aces nd “Young Gun” Gillian Kenagy had four kills and zero errors. The young ‘Cats, as a whole, only missed a total of eight serves.
