Fast-rising waters Tuesday, combined with high winds, prompted schools to cancel after-school activities and cities to close several roads.

North Bend closed sections of Boalch Avenue and Mount Si Boulevard Tuesday afternoon, and announced they were re-opened this morning. Snoqualmie’s Millpond Road to Meadowbrook Bridge is still reported closed, but Boalch Avenue and S.E. Reinig Road from the Meadowbrook Bridge have been re-opened.

The river crested upstream Tuesday evening. Wednesday morning brought calm winds and sunshine to the soggy Valley, as pictured here.

The Sinnema-Quaale upper revetment project work north of Carnation was underwater Wednesday morning, following the third recent high-water incident on the Snoqualmie River.

The Snoqualmie River left its banks and rushed past equipment and supplies stored on the riverbank for the Sinnema-Quaale, or “car-body curve” revetment project that closed the Snoqualmie Valley Trail for most of the summers. Work was originally expected to be done in October, but setbacks and a settling roadbed have caused delays. The project is now expected to be done in December.
