Register future Kindergarteners

Published 3:04 pm Tuesday, February 24, 2015

Snoqualmie Valley School District begins Kindergarten registration for next fall on Tuesday, March 3.

Parents can attend a new-student registration session from 1:30 to 3 p.m., or from 6 to 7:30 p.m. March 3 at any of the district’s five elementary schools, Cascade View, Fall City, North Bend, Opstad or Snoqualmie Elementary School. The sessions are for Kindergarten students, and any elementary students new to the district starting next fall.

The district offers two Kindergarten options, half-day or full-day. Half-day Kindergarten is available to all eligible students at all elementary schools in the district, at no cost; students will attend class in either the mornings or afternoons Monday through Thursday, and alternating Fridays. Full-day Kindergarten is available on a limited, space-available basis at each elementary school, and there is a tuition fee. Parents interested in the full-day option can ask to be placed in the lottery for the program. Drawings will be held after registration, and selected families will be notified later in March.

To be eligible to start Kindergarten in the 2015-16 school year, children must be 5 years of age by August 31.

Parents must have their students’ birth certificates, immunization history and emergency health and contact information with them during registration. They will also be asked to fill out enrollment and transportation forms.
