Get your pets fixed this weekend in North Bend

Published 9:10 am Wednesday, June 4, 2014

The Pasado’s Safe Haven Mobile Spay Station is coming to North Bend on Saturday, June 7. To help cat and dog owners, Regional Animal Services of King County (RASKC) and Pasado’s Safe Haven are joining forces to offer $10 spay/neuter surgeries.

“We typically see an influx of kittens and puppies at this time of year,” said RASKC Manager Dr. Gene Mueller. “By spaying or neutering your pet, you can prevent unwanted animals from ending up in the shelter.”

“Many pet owners don’t realize that cats can become pregnant when they’re just four months old, and dogs as young as six months old,” said Jenny Fraley, Director of Homeless Prevention Initiatives at Pasado’s Safe Haven. “Spaying or neutering your beloved companion can be such a simple solution to not only the pet overpopulation crisis, but a number of other issues such as behavior problems or testicular or mammary cancer.”

Space is limited for the spay/neuter surgeries, and slots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. All surgeries will take place at Pasado’s Mobile Spay Station, located at Mount Si Senior Center, 411 Main Ave. S. in North Bend. The $10 surgeries represent a savings of $65 or more off the typical cost of spaying or neutering. Pet owners interested in this special offer should email Darcyj@pasadosafehaven.org, call 206-300-7217, or go to www.pasadosafehaven.org to learn more, including what they need to do to prepare their cat or dog for surgery.
