Snoqualmie’s Black Dog Cafe hosts a couple of amazing world travelers, 6 p.m. tonight, for a talk about their journey of a lifetime.

Taaru Chaw and Christiana Bruchok, hailing from Phoeniz, Ariz., are visiting their friend Tim Lee, a Snoqualmie resident, this week.

The couple are on the final leg of a bicycle trek from the tip of South America, on their way up to Prudhoe Bay in Alaska.

That journey in itself is challenging enough. But both Chaw and Bruchok are legally blind. They’re making this trek on their own, relying on skill, willpower and the different, limited sight that each person relies on.

Chaw and Bruchok shared their story with Mount Si High School students earlier this week, then stopped by for a chat at the Valley Record.
