Snoqualmie Valley’s Relay for Life cruises to raise $70,000; Benefit planned for Block Party

More than 200 people, fifty cancer survivors included, walked, jogged, skateboarded, or even ran a marathon during the Snoqualmie Valley Relay for Life, held Saturday and Sunday, July 7 and 8, at Centennial Fields. One woman, Chris Fagan of the Party Lite team, ran 76 miles in the overnight party.
The benefit brought together those who have fought cancer, their caregivers and loved ones, and those remembering and honoring people who have died from cancer.
Relay is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, and as of press time, the event had raised $70,100, with the Dy-No-Mites in first place with $15,000, followed by Team Green with $6,300 and the PB Hard Hats with $4.900.
The Dy-No-Mites will host a fundraiser, 6:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday, July 14, at Another Hair Place during the North Bend Block Party.Anyone can donate to Relay through August at www.snovalleyrelay.org.
