Logging history: Presentation on vanished heritage coming to Snoqualmie Y

A new presentation on Valley logging history, jobs and heritage is 10 a.m. Saturday, July 7, at the Snoqualmie YMCA.

The largest human-created manufacturing plant in Valley history, and the town that surrounded it, has largely disappeared, but Saturday’s presentation explores its lasting heritage.  A short video covers the story of the creation of the mill and town and its fifty years of innovation, family oriented activities (at the first ‘Y’ in the Valley) and job creation.  Participants show video footage from the 1920s through 1939, showing the ‘inside story’ of the mill and woods operation.

Meadowbrook Farm Preservation Association – http://www.meadowbrookfarmpreserve.org/ and the Snoqualmie Valley Historical Society Museum  http://www.snoqualmievalleymuseum.org/ are partnering with the Snoqualmie ‘Y’ for this endeavor.
