Notre Dame summer study for Fall City scholar

Jared Schattenkerk of Fall City, a sophomore at Eastside Catholic School, took part in an exclusive summer program at the University of Notre Dame.

Summer Scholars accepts approximately 20 students into each of 12 study tracks. Schattenkerk was accepted into the Life Sciences track.

He was encouraged to apply after his parents asked Head of School Sister Mary E. Tracy how to best prepare for college. Given the increased competitiveness of college, students must think about college and plan accordingly earlier than in previous decades. Eastside Catholic works to give such direction to students and their parents.

Eastside Catholic is located in Sammamish. The University of Notre Dame is located in Notre Dame, Ind.
