Two men and a woman escaped from a home that caught fire just before 6 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30,  in the 33600 block of Northeast 45th Street in Carnation.

The woman and one man were uninjured, but the third man was burned on his arms and legs, and transported to a hospital by ambulance.

Fire Departments from Carnation, Fall City and Duvall responded to the call, which came in at 5:52 a.m., said acting Battalion Chief Mike Geppert of Eastside Fire & Rescue.

“It was a defensive fire, well involved by the time we got there,” Geppert said. Fire fighters did not go into the double-wide mobile home to extinguish the flames, but fought the fire from outside the home.

The home appeared to be a total loss. No cause has been determined yet, and the three residents of the home had no idea what might have caused it.

“They just woke up and smelled smoke,” said Geppert.

At press time, the King County County Fire Investigation team was was working on-site to determine the cause of the fire.
