Robber hits North Bend bank

A gray-bearded bandit held up the Sterling Savings Bank in North Bend late Friday afternoon, Nov. 6, making off with an undisclosed amount of money.
According to reports from the King County Sheriff’s office, the lone man entered the bank, located at 146 W. Second St., around 5:30 p.m., implied that he was armed, and demanded money.
“He came in, went up to the first teller and told them he’d rob them,” said North Bend Police Chief Mark Toner.
The man was decribed as about 55 years old, five feet eight inches tall and roughly 170 pounds. Surveillance footage at the bank showed him slouched at the counter, wearing a blue fisherman’s cap.
No getaway vehicle information was reported, and sheriff’s officers declined to say how much money the man got away with.
