Four Mount Si Wildcat gymnasts are heading to the district meet set for this Saturday. Leading the list is newcomer Cherise Athay, a sophomore, who placed ninth in the all-around. Athay also scored an 8.250 on the vault for ninth place. Katie Osiadacz, a senior, earned a trip to district in three events. She placed seventh on the floor with a score of 8.675, 15th on the vault with a score of 8.075 and 19th on the beam with a score of 7.90.
Teammate Casey Stinnett, also a senior, will head to the district meet as well. Stinnett tied Osiadacz on the beam at 19th with a score of 7.900.
Finally, sophomore Sarah Lewis earned a spot with a 28th-place finish on the floor and a score of 7.550.
“It’s nice to have experience, since she has been in a club,” said coach Renee Tredo of Athay. “It’s nice to have someone that other girls can look at and see how it is supposed to be done.”
“Katie had her best routine of the season and I was so proud of her,” added Tredo. Others participating in the league meet were Erika Jensen, Jill Buck and Alisha Fischer. The district meet will be held at Sammamish High School on Saturday, Feb. 12, at 4:50 p.m.
