SNOQUALMIE – The Mount Si boys tennis team was without three of their key players and was defeated by Bellevue last Tuesday.
The Wolverines won all nine matches, most by 6-0, 6-1, or 6-2 scores. One match that did show some promise was the doubles match featuring Adam Dalman and Kevin Sandin. The Mount Si pair, playing their first match of the season, gave Bellevue’s Dan Mizukami and Adam Bronstein a brief scare in game two of the match, but the Wildcats fell 6-1, 6-3 in that one.
Mount Si improves against Sammamish
Mount Si made some headway against Sammamish Friday but fell to the Totems. The Wildcats won a pair of matches, one each in singles and doubles. The singles win was courtesy of Bryce Wilson, who defeated Nathan Schaeffer 6-1, 6-4 in the No. 2 singles contest. The Wildcats’ doubles triumph came with a 6-3, 6-0 win by the Mount Si pair of Tyler Emsky and Greg Beckmann over their Sammamish opponents Max Boyce and Steven Berry in the No. 3 doubles match.
The Wildcats put up a good fight in another match, Tim Coleman, in No. 5 singles, won his first set against the Totems’ Peter Kim 6-3, but then fell 3-6, 4-6 in the next two sets to lose that match. Along with that victory, the Totems won their other matches for a total of seven.
