‘C’ team football pulls out win
The Mount Si High School “C” football team unleashed its fury last week defeating Eastside Catholic 21-20. Jake Handy and Chris Goforth led the scoring with Handy starting the second half off on a 90-yard touchdown run.
JV thumps Eastside Catholic
The Mount Si JV football team won its season opener last week defeating Eastside Catholic 20-8. Daniel Reeves picked off a pass and ran it 32 yards for a touchdown with teammate Daniel Floyd also picking off two passes.
Outside containment of the Eastside Catholic offense by Shawn Bothell, Levi Nelso and Nick Johnston limited the Crusaders’ scoring ability. Sacks by Cary Purchase and Mac Donnell helped as well.
Quarterback Michael Ushler completed 5-of-10 passes and engineered the running game of Reeves, Zach Sumner and Marshall Griffin to round out the offense.
Varsity dominates Eastside Catholic
Three touchdowns were all it took to shut down the Crusaders as the Mount Si varsity football team defeated Eastside Catholic last week 19-0. Erik Tierney, Eric Alexander and Eric McCammon all scored with McCammon’s touchdown recorded defensively.
The defense was led by Eric Forslin, Jake Pearce, Adam Rothgeb and Kyle Meuli with Mount Si shutting down both the running and passing game of the Crusaders. Tyler Littlejohn led the effort at the quarterback position, getting his first start at the varsity level.
Volleyball starts off season
The Bellevue Wolverines had no idea what hit them last week as the Mount Si JV volleyball team won in two games, 25-6 and 25-10.
The ‘Cats were led by Carly Nelson with six kills and Noel Walter with four kills and five service aces.
Adding to the solid effort were freshman Wesley Eand with a perfect passing night and Alisha Larion with three kills.
