Kids’ activities offered this summer
Time to break out the shorts, sunglasses and sunscreen, kids. Here are a few ideas for things to do in the Valley and beyond during those (boring) days of summer.
Amusement
Experience Music Project

Hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Admission is $19.95 and for adults, $14.95 for children. Parking is $8.
Woodland Park Zoo

Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Admission is $8.00 for adults, $7.25 for seniors, $5.75 for youth ages 6 to 17 and $3.75 for preschoolers. Parking is $3.50.
See the new baby elephant Hansa, the Kimono Dragon exhibit and the African Safari exhibit which includes a plains zebra, a giraffe, a spotted hyena and a hippopotamus.
Museums
Museum of Flight

Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily until 9 p.m. on Thursdays.
Admission is $9.50 for adults, $5 for children ages 5 to 17, $8.50 for seniors and kids age 4 and under are free. Admission is complimentary on the first Thursday of the month from 5 to 9 p.m.
June 22 is Firefighter Day at the museum. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. see the latest fire trucks and equipment from local stations. Boeing clowns and the MarinersO moose will be there to entertain.
Snoqualmie ValleyHistorical Museum

Check out the new 1930s theme showcases which feature sports memorabilia, a living room from that era, prom and wedding dresses and a 1888 one-room schoolhouse.

Public swimming is from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and from noon until 1 p.m. on Saturdays.
Admission is $1.85, except for Monday nights when the fare is discounted to 75 cents.
Karate lessons
Beginning classes are being offered from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., and intermediate classes are being offered from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursdays through Aug. 16. For ages 8 and up.
Students will learn kicks, punches, blocks, breathing, balance and coordination. Cost is $43.
Day and Youth Camps
Day Camp 2001 is being offered for ages 6 to 10 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 2 to Aug. 17 in one-week sessions. Participants will explore arts, crafts, sports, games, reading and field trips.
Hang Time Youth Camp
Will be offered for ages 10 to 13 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 2 to Aug. 17 in one-week sessions. This camp will offer swimming, barbecues and field trips.

Out and About Field Trips are being offered for kids ages 6 to 12 beginning on July 12. These one-day trips will feature a visit to the Pacific Science Center, the King County Fair, Wild Waves and Enchanted Parks and other destinations. Choose from one or all six adventures. Transportation will be provided.

Snoqualmie Valley Youth Hub Activities
Sign up for one, two, or all four summer fun camps being offered by the HUB. Transportation is available at the cost of $10 for one-way and $15 for two-way. Parent must sign a release form. Call (425) 831-5543 to enroll.
Summer Fun Camp #1
From July 9 to 12. Cost is $65.
Looking for something fun to do after school is out? This camp will consist of a week of games, activities and adventures.
Fun Places To See Camp #2
From July 16 to July 19. Cost is $75.
Tired of the same old thing? Venture to all sorts of fun places such as the Seattle Center and the roller skating rink.
Activities Week Camp #3
From July 23 to July 26. Cost is $65.
ItOs all about fun! This week is packed with different activities that will keep your summer cool! You will stay busy doing arts and crafts, playing basketball, swimming, hiking and taking a trip or two.
Wet and Wild Camp #4
From July 30 to Aug. 2. Cost is $75.
This week is going to be wet and wild. Expect a week of swimming, bowling, a barbecue and a trip to Wild Waves & Enchanted Parks in Federal Way. Enrollment is limited and you must be 12 years old. Van leaves at 9 a.m. and gets back at 5 p.m.
Snoqualmie Valley Youth Hub Sports Camps
Tennis Camp
Learn to play tennis, improve your skills and meet new friends in this fun, lifelong sport. Emphasis is on fun drills, skills, basic instruction and games. Class will teach forehand, backhand, volleying, serving and scoring. You must bring your own racket.
Class #1- Grades 4 to 6, 9 to 10:30 a.m. June 25 to July 29 at Fall City Elementary.
Class #2- Grades 7 to 8, 10:30 a.m. to noon June 25 to July 29 at Fall City Elementary.
Class #3- Grades 4 to 6, 9 to 10:30 a.m. July 9 to 13 at Snoqualmie Ridge Park.
Class #4- Grades 7 to 8, 10:30 a.m. to noon July 9 to 13 at Snoqualmie Ridge Park.
Cost is $30 and includes tennis balls, rules of tennis, evaluation and six hours of instruction. Classes are limited to eight students. To register, please call the Snoqualmie Valley Youth Hub at (425) 831-5543.
Golf Lessons
This program will teach the USGA rules of golf, etiquette, grip, aim, set-up and introduction to the swing. Participants will also learn how to use irons, the skill of chipping, putting and the full swing. There will be a day that includes a mini-golf course.
Beginners class for ages 5 to 9 will be held from 11 a.m. to noon, July 18 to Aug. 22.
Intermediate class for ages 10 to 17 will be held from 11 a.m. to noon, July 19 to Aug. 23.
Class fee is $80 and includes golf balls, clubs and instruction with a pro. Class is limited to the first eight students.

Soccer camp for ages 6 to 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 9 to 13, July 30 to Aug. 3 and Aug. 27 to 31 at the North Bend Athletic Complex, 600 E. North Bend Way, also known as Torguson Park. Cost is $98.
Baseball camp for ages 6 to 12 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 6 to 10 at the North Bend Athletic Complex. Cost is $98.
Basketball camp for ages 7 to 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., July 30 to Aug. 3. and Aug. 20 to 24 at Chief Kanim Middle School. Cost is $98.
