‘Cats avenge loss
Revenge was sweet as the Mount Si JV softball team blasted Newport, a team that had defeated them earlier in the season 14-7. The girls put the game away by scoring five in the bottom of the fourth inning. Elise Vikari’s two-run single scoring Amy Ferree and Alicia Elmore provided what would be the winning runs. Mount Si added five insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth keyed by Lynnae McKiernan’s RBI single and Sophie Hart’s stand-up, base clearing, double. Vikari had her best game as a Wildcat with three hits and three RBI’s and Hart helped earn her own pitching win with a 4-for-4 effort at the plate. The win raises the team’s record to 9-5.
