JV team downs Issaquah
The Mount Si JV girls’ basketball team defeated Issaquah last week 49-40. Jordyn Wilson led the team in scoring with 16 points and eight steals. Meaghan Cavanaugh had nine points and 14 rebounds. Victoria Falcon sparked the team with six points and some great hustle plays.
JV defeated by Liberty
Despite six points and six rebounds from Jordyn Wilson, the Mount Si JV girls’ basketball team fell to Liberty last week 43-19. Meaghan Cavanaugh grabbed six rebounds and Amy Ferree chipped in six points.
‘Cats fall to Bellevue
The Mount Si gymnastics team traveled to Bellevue for their first league meet of the season recently but fell short in team points 150.45 to 132.3 despite several great performances.
Brittany Cragin led Mount Si on the beam with a 7.20. Alisha Fischer had a 5.60, Tiffany Kinsman had a 5.50, Sarah Lewis had a 5.00, Stephanie King had a 4.60, Erika Jense nscored a 4.30, Tiera Welsh a 4.30, Pauline Monet a 4.20, Anika Granillo a 4.10 and Jessi Zavar a 3.60.
On the vault, Cragin again led with an 8.00, Lewis had a 7.70, Jill Buck had a 7.60, Jensen a 7.20, Fischer a 7.10, McKinna Little a 6.20 and Welsh a 4.50.
For floor, Lewis lead with an 8.10, Buck had a 7.30, Cragin a 7.25, Jensen a 6.90, Fischer a 6.60, Little a 5.40, Welsh a 5.00 and Monet a 4.65.
On the bars, Lewis again lead Mount Si with a 6.70, followed by Cragin with a 6.55, Jensen with a 6.30, Fischer with a 6.10, Buck with a 5.00, Little with a 4.20, Welsh with a 3.80, King with a 3.35, Ayana Hara with a 2.70 and Cassie Irwin with a 1.00.
For all-around, Cragin took fourth overall with a score of 29.00. Lewis took sixth overall with a score of 27.50. Fischer took eighth overall with a score of 25.40 and Jensen took ninth overall with a score of 24.70.
Wildcats down Totems
Behind the efforts of Brittany Cragin and Sarah Lewis who took first and second respectively in all-around competition, the Mount Si gymnastics team defeated Sammamish 138.10 to 126.60. In addition to Cragin and Lewis, Alisha Fischer finished fourth overall, Erika Jensen fifth overall, Jill Buck seventh overall and McKinna Little ninth overall. On the floor, Lewis won, with a score of 8.80 followed by Cragin with an 8.60. Jill Buck took fourth with a score of 7.50, Fischer scored a 6.60 to take fifth, Jensen took seventh with a 6.30 and Pauline Monet took ninth with a 6.00. Also scoring for a floor routine were Little, who took 13th with a 5.40, Jessi Zavar who took 16th with a 5.00, and Tiffany Kinsman, who took 17th with a 4.90.
On the beam, Cragin took second with a score of 7.30, Lewis took third with a score of 6.40, Fischer took fourth, tying Jensen with a score of 6.20 for each, Kinsman took ninth with a score of 4.90, Welsh took 10th with a score of 4.650, Kaiya Jones took 11th with a score of 4.60, Stephanie King took 14th with a score of 4.50, Anika Granillo took 15th with a score of 4.450 and Caht Hayes took 16th with a score of 4.30.
For the bars, Lewis took first with a score of 6.70, Cragin took third with a score of 6.60, Jensen took fourth with a score of 6.00, Fischer took fifth with a score of 5.90, Buck took seventh with a score of 5.40, Little took eighth with a score of 5.30, King took 13th with a score of 3.30, Welsh took 14th with a score of 3.20, Ayana Hara took 17th with a score of 2.50 and Zavar took 18th with a score of 2.20.
On the vault, Cragin took second with a score of 8.25, Fischer took fourth with a score of 7.90, Lewis took fifth with a score of 7.70, Buck took seventh with a score of 7.50, Jensen took eighth with a score of 7.35, Little took ninth with a score of 7.25, Welsh took 11th with a score of 6.75 and Zavar took 12th with a score of 6.60.
Mount Si takes on Redmond, Woodinville and Liberty, at Liberty on Thursday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m.
