Teachers prepare to take ‘Day of Action’

SNOQUALMIE VALLEY – The problem Art Galloway and teachers across the state are fighting came into focus for him when trying to arrange a fleet of buses for a trip down to Olympia.

As head of the Snoqualmie Education Association teacher’s union, Galloway, a teacher at Mount Si High School, has been working since early last year to organize educators for the Day of Action the Washington Education Association is holding on Tuesday, Jan. 14, in Olympia. The event is aimed at showing support for school funding as the state Legislature mulls over its budget.

While organizing how teachers would get down to the rally, he soon realized that a lot of the teachers from the Valley could just drive to it since they live closer to Olympia than to Snoqualmie.
