Athletes get silver medal
Several athletes from Mount Si recently competed in Special Olympics, held at Fort Lewis. The team played four hard games and showed impressive teamwork en route to winning a silver medal.
Mount Si was represented by Kaila Stevens Wajda, Anna Ennaro, Bobby Pearson, A.J. Carstens, Andrew Galloway, Jessica Metzger and Sandra Guthrie.
Girls team does well
The Mount Si girls’ basketball program started its summer league tour with seven victories last week in tournament action.
The team defeated Enumclaw, Puyallup, Washington, Olympia, Mountlake Terrace and Meadowdale. Mount Si played solidly to bring home its first tournament championship.
Hole-in-one for Felt
Marjorie Felt of Sammamish scored a hole-in-one at Mount Si Golf Course last week. She made the shot on the 17th hole – 143 yards – using a six-iron. It was her second hole-in-one.
HUB offering tennis camps
The Snoqualmie Valley Youth Hub is offering summer tennis camps for grades 4-8 at Snoqualmie Ridge’s Meadow Park.

Tennis coaching position open
Mount Si High School is looking for a boys’ tennis head coach. The position is expected to be filled by June 28. Those interested should fill out an application and send a resume and cover letter to the personnel office of the Snoqualmie Valley School District.
The head coaching position is responsible for overseeing the varsity and junior-varsity programs. The season begins Aug. 26 and runs through October. District and state tournaments are played in May.
