NORTH BEND – When 15-year-old Bryan Landis used to look over the small park he and his Boy Scout troop would hang out at after meetings, he could sense there was something missing: light.
In the winter months, night falls fast on Washington and, therefore, on anything happening outside of the Snoqualmie Valley Youth Activity Center, located at 356 Bendigo Blvd. N. in North Bend, where Boy Scout Troop 466 meets.
This past winter, Landis, who is a member of Troop 466, was thinking of what to do for his Eagle Scout project. It had to involve coordinating workers and provide an opportunity for Landis to prove himself as a leader.
It also had to be useful, so Landis, with some suggestions from friends and community members, decided to renovate the activity center and lighten things up a bit.
