Wildcats down Indians, Knights

In golf action Sept. 13, the Issaquah golf team fell victim to

the two Wildcats named “Sean.”

Seniors Sean Fallows and Sean Armstrong shared medalist

honors after shooting a par-36 at the Snoqualmie Falls course.

Rounding out the 193-198 defeat of the Indians were Eric Larson, with a score of

39, and Derek Lee and Brett Fallows, each finishing with a 41. JV highlights

featured David LaBelle with a 37.

The match put Mount Si’s record at 2-0 and left them in good shape

to take on KingCo 3A league favorite Newport the following Thursday

… and sure enough, the Wildcat golf team led yet another league

favorite down the road to defeat.

Newport confidently attacked the course, but Armstrong’s 3-under

par medalist performance was more than enough to put the match in the

win column for the `Cats. Not only did he shoot a 33, he chipped in a shot for

an eagle on the fifth hole.

Wrapping up the 184-187 win were Aarson Svarthumle with a

score of 36, and Sean Fallows and Derek Lee shooting 38 apiece. LaBelle

finished with a 39.

Possessing a 3-0 league record, the Wildcat Golf Team faced Tahoma

last Monday night in a non-league match. Their next contest is this

Thursday afternoon with Cedarcrest at Mount Si Golf Course.

Red Wolves overcome Patriots, fall to Saints

Cedarcrest visited Liberty at Maple Wood golf course and won

their first match of the season 207-209. Ryan McClintock shot eight pars

and one bogey and finished 1-over at 37 to earn Medalist Honors.

Sean Beveridge recorded a 2-over 38; followed by Marc Medley, 40;

Jason Kamada, 40; Bill Filer, 43; and Robyn Spayda, 46.

Thursday afternoon’s results weren’t as positive, with the

Red Wolves falling to the Interlake Saints 203-236. The match was played on

the par-36 Tam O’Shanter course.

Sean Beveridge led the pack, notching a three-over 39. He was

followed by Kamada, 46; Pat Beveridge, 47; Medley 49; and Filer, 56.

The Red Wolves travel to Mount Si Golf Course today (Sept. 23)

for their first encounter of the season with the Wildcat golf team.
