New brewery site on tap

SNOQUALMIE – Beer from the Snoqualmie Falls Brewing Co. can be seen at some of the choice watering holes in the region. From the elite bars in Seattle to the North Bend Bar and Grill, the brewery’s offerings have made their mark on the palates of beer connoisseurs throughout Western Washington.
The hardest place to find Snoqualmie Fall’s beer has been where it is brewed. Its Snoqualmie location on Falls Avenue is rarely seen by traffic on Railroad Avenue and if it were not for a small sandwich board out in front of its parking lot, the brewery itself would likely be hidden to everyone.
“We still get people coming in who have lived here for awhile and say they never knew about us until recently,” said Brewmaster Rande Reed. “We’re kind of out of sight, out of mind.”
Despite its geographic obscurity, the brewery has managed to make a good profit on its retail sales. About 20 percent of the brewery’s profits come from customers who walk in and leave with growlers, bottles and kegs full of beer. Since these sales avoid markups that go onto tap sales, they are more profitable for the company.
