Eighth-grade girls lose close one to Beaver Lake
The Snoqualmie Middle School eighth-grade girls track team
captured eight first place finishes out of the 13 events but couldn’t capture the
team score, losing 55-50.
Finishing first for the Lady Eagles were Kristen Berndt in the
75-meter hurdles, 200-meter run and the long jump. Kelly Fletcher took first in
the 400-meter run and teammate Brittanie Griep took first in the 1600.
Katie Davidson notched a first in the discus while the relay tem of Danielle
Raver, Jesse Conway, Amy Keogh and Cali Fredrichs also took first. The
800-meter relay team of Danielle Arthur, Heidi Lee, Griep and Fletcher
also recorded a first.
Raver also recorded a second place finish in the long jump. Four
Lady Eagles took third place finishes: Keogh in the 400, Daniella Plavsky
in the 800, Chandra Rappin in the discus and Lisa Fairbanks in the shot putt.
Seventh-graders dominate Beaver Lake
The Snoqualmie Middle School seventh-grade girls track team
dominated league rival Beaver Lake last week, 72-32.
Mallory Horsch led the first-place finishers in both the 75-meter
hurdles and the long jump. Teammate Whitney Chelgren recorded a first in the
high jump and the 800-meter relay team of Whitney Beyerlin, Horsch,
Natsumi Asanumi and Mandy Eberl also took first.
Several competitors took second place honors including
Shannon Kelley in the 75-meter hurdles, Rebecca Coffey in the 800-meter
run, Chelgren in the 200 and Autumn Dierking in the shot putt.
Chelgren also recorded a third in the 100.
Sixth-grade boys defeat Chief Kanim
The Snoqualmie Middle School sixth-grade boys track team ran
over Chief Kanim last week in their first meeting of the season, 53-39.
Team efforts were led by Cody Hyatt who took first in the 200-meter run and
first in the discus. Dan Dombrowski followed suit and took first in the
shot put and second in the discus. Zach Lamb took first in the long jump
and second in the 100 while Kyle Meuli took first in the 400-meter dash.
Michael Jones took second in the 1600 and second in the 800.
Kirk Brown took second in the high jump and third in the 100.
Brandon Wallace took third in the shot put with teammate Zach
Carlson taking third in the discus.
The team of Hyatt, Lamb, Dombrowski and Meuli also took
first in the 400-meter relay and the 800-meter relay.
Sixth-grade girls topple rivals
The Snoqualmie Middle School sixth grade girls track team
defeated the Chief Kanim team last week, 68-45.
Placing first for the Eagles was Jessica Marley in the 100-meter run
with a time of 14.6 seconds, in the 200 with a time of 30.6 seconds — which
were both new sixth-grade records. Jordan Tipton took first in both the
75-meter hurdles and the long jump. Tove Garhart took first in the 1600
while teammate Erin Duncklee took first in the 800. Jenny Daley had a first in
the shot put.
Theresa Horsch took first in the high jump and the relay team
of Tipton, Colette Hatch, Garhart and Marley placed first in the 400.
With Chelsea Eddings replacing Marley, the 800-meter relay team
also took first.
Eddings took a second in the 75-meter hurdles along with Jenny
Daley who recorded a second in the discus. Horsch added a second in the
long jump to her accomplishments and Tara Eddings took second in the high jump.
Taking third place honors were Collette in the 100 and Linne
McElroy in the 400 and the long jump.
Lady Eagles defeat Lower-Valley rivals
The Snoqualmie Middle School eighth-grade Lady Eagles defeated
the Tolt Middle School track team, 66-38.
The team captured nine first place finishes and was led by triple
winner Kristen Berndt. Berndt finished first in the 75-meter hurdles, 200-meter
run and the long jump. She also anchored the winning 400-meter relay team
of Danielle Raver, Jesse Conway and Amy Keogh.
Kelly Fletcher turned in an outstanding performance in the 400
to capture first as well as anchoring the winning 800 relay team of
Danielle Arthur, Heidi Lee and Brittanie Griep.
Griep also earned a first place finish in the 1600.
Raver ran to a first in the 100 and Keogh jumped to a first in the
high jump. The team also swept the discus event with Katie Davidson
finishing first, Chandra Rappin second and Ashley Kober third.
Others scoring points were from Daniella Plavsky with a second in
the shot put, Alice Piccola with a third in the 1600, Cali Fredrichs with a
third in the 400, Lizzie Sherwood with a third in the 800, Lisa Fairbanks with
a third in the shot put and Raver with a third in the long jump.
Seventh-graders topple Tolt
Whitney Chelgren, of Snoqualmie Middle School, led the way as a
triple winner and provided the boost her team needed to trounce Tolt
Middle School, 66-39.
Chelgren placed first in the 100-meter run, in the 200, high jump
and then anchored the winning 400-meter relay team of Jeanne Frantz,
Mallory Horsch and Rebecca Coffey. Horsch captured two first place finishes
in both the 75-meter hurdles and then leaped to 14-3 in the long jump.
Whitney Beyerlin ran a strong 400-meter run to finish first
and Coffey sprinted to a first in the 800.
Leah Coffey ran a first in the 1600 while the team of Beyerlin,
Maggie Kujath, Natsumi Asanumi and Mandy Eberl took first in the 800-meter
relay.
The team of Shannon Kelley, Leah Coffey, Hailey Macri and
Asanumi took first in the medley relay.
Second place finishes went to Meaghan Duncklee in the
75-meter hurdles and Kujath in the long jump. Third place points went to
Duncklee in the 100 and 200 as well as the long jump. Leah Coffey took third in
the 400 and Autumn Dierking took third in the 1600 and the discus.
