MetLife rewards cautious teens

MetLife Auto & Home now rewards its teen auto insurance

customers in Washington with $50 for each year that they drive with no

accidents, claims or violations. The incentive is provided through the company’s

Drive Safe and Cash In portion of its Teens on the Road to Safety program.

The program also includes an optional component called Sunday

Drive where teens can earn a $100 U.S. Savings Bond for logging 20 drives

with a parent or guardian in the co-pilot seat.

“This is our way of trying to establish parental influence on the

teen’s driving and to acquaint parents with their child’s driving habits,”

said Catherine Rein, president of MetLife Auto & Home.

MetLife is also offering a guide book titled “Teaching Your Teens

to Drive (Without Driving Each Other Crazy).” The free 16-page booklet

is available by calling 1-800-MET-LIFE.
