Harley Brumbaugh and Friends to perform Dec. 15

Published 1:03 pm Thursday, October 2, 2008

Music to set the toe tapping and the heart humming will fill the Mount Si High School theater on Sunday, Dec. 15, in an absolutely terrific salute to the holiday season. Nearly 150 musicians and singers will be on stage and in the aisles for a rousing finale that will include an audience sing-along. Curtain time is 3 p.m. for this concert that will include holiday favorites old and new, as well as other well-known melodies.

Harley’s Friends include the 70-piece Renton City Concert Band, playing two sold-out concerts in Renton this week (Harley has led this group to its high level of excellence over the past 17 years); the 25-voice, mixed choir Voices of the Valley, which he is in the third year of conducting; and a seven-piece Dixieland combo that he has assembled especially for this concert. Adding to the festivities are the highly rated 20-piece Mount Si Jazz Band, and the talented 20-voice Jazz Choir. Each of these five groups will be center stage before joining forces for the stirring conclusion to the concert.

For newcomers to the area, Harley Brumbaugh is well known on the Puget Sound music scene as a professional musician, music educator, director and composer.

Tickets ($15 general, $10 seniors and $5 youth) are available at Nature’s Marketplace in North Bend; Isadora’s in Snoqualmie; and Video Nites in Fall City.
