Gymnastics team wins their third meet

Defeating the Interlake Saints and Olympia Capitals, the Mount Si gymnastics team won their third meet in a row 138.55 to 133.80 and 97.300. Mount Si took four of the top five positions with Sarah Lewis taking second in all-around, Brittany Cragin taking third, Erika Jensen taking fourth and Alisha Fischer taking fifth. Jill Buck just missed the top five, with a seventh in all-around.
On the vault, Cragin nailed down second place with a score of 8.20; Buck took fourth with a score of 8.00; Lewis and Fischer tied for sixth with a score of 7.90, followed by Jensen with a score of 7.80 and McKinna Little with a score of 7.70 for ninth.
Other placers were Jessi Zavar with a score of 7.00, Tiera Welsh with a score of 6.80 and Julie Carroll with a score of 6.40.
On the bars, Fischer and Cragin stuck their performances, finishing first and second respectively.
Lewis finished fifth with a score of 6.350, Buck sixth with a score of 6.30 and Jensen seventh with a score of 6.250. Little rounded out the top 10 with a score of 5.90.
Other placers on the bars included Stephanie King who took 16th with a score of 4.70, Cassie Irwin who took 19th with a score of 4.30, Julie Carroll who took 21st with a score of 3.20; and Ayana Hara who took 22nd with a score of 2.00.
On the beam, Jensen and Lewis took second and third respectively. Cragin took seventh, tied with Tiffany Kinsman with a score of 5.60; Fischer took 10th with a score of 5.40, Buck took 13th with a score of 5.20; tied with King who also scored a 5.20. Other placers were Pauline Monet who took 16th with a score of 4.80; Welsh who took 19th with a score of 4.65; and Anika Granillo who took 20th with a score of 4.60.
Mount Si dominated the floor routine, taking five of the top six positions. Lewis nailed a perfect routine scoring an 8.00. Cragin took third with a score of 7.50 followed by teammate Fischer who took fourth with a score of 7.20. Jensen took fifth with a score of 7.00 and Buck took sixth with a score of 6.40. Also finishing in the top ten were Little who took ninth with a score of 6.15; and Carroll who took tenth with a score of 6.10.
Other placers for the floor were Kinsman who took 13th with a score of 6.00; Monet who also tied for 13th with a score of 6.00; and Jessi Zavar, who took 16th with a score of 5.90.
Mount Si heads to Issaquah to take on the former state champs Thursday, Jan. 12, at 7 p.m.
