Deputies used a Taser to restrain a man in North Bend Tuesday, May 8, after he allegedly struck two cars, crashed into a brick wall and resisted arrest.
Jason Gill Wells, 32, of North Bend was booked into King County Jail on multiple charges. He pleaded not guilty in Issaquah Municipal Court to one count each of hit and run, driving with a suspended license and driving under the influence. Issaquah provides municipal court service for the city of North Bend. Bail was set at $7,500 on the DUI and hit-and-run charge, and $2,500 on the suspended license charge.
Additional charges – on which he was initially booked into King County Jail – of resisting arrest and two additional counts of hit and run and driving with a revoked license, have not been filed. Wells’ attorney, Mark Goodson, did not return a phone call in time for publication.
Wells allegedly was involved in several hit-and-run incidents in North Bend around 4 p.m. His alleged spree began when he reportedly rear-ended a car stopped on West North Bend Way at the traffic light at Bendigo Boulevard, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office. Though Wells’ last name is not included in the sheriff’s office report, the report is included in charging documents and he is listed on the King County Jail register.
According to the Sheriff’s Office report, the Honda CRV, which Wells was allegedly driving, sped away, soon side-swiping a Toyota Landcruiser in the 100 block of Bendigo Boulevard North. The Landcruiser’s driver called police and followed the vehicle – which was reportedly speeding, driving erratically and blew past a stop sign before crashing into a brick wall on La Forest Drive Southeast, the report stated.
