A Carnation man was found dead in his truck in the Snoqualmie River after he was reported missing following a night out with his friends.

Dennis Murray, 45, was found shortly after noon on Monday, April 15, in the Snoqualmie River off State Route 203 near Neal Road Southeast.

According to the Washington State Patrol, Murray was driving northbound on State Route 203 when he started to drift onto the righthand shoulder. He overcorrected and crossed the center of the road into the southbound lanes, and then went off the road into the Snoqualmie River.

One lane on State Route 203 was closed for nearly three hours while the State Patrol, Eastside Fire and Rescue emergency crews and King County divers retrieved Murray, who was not wearing a seatbelt, and his 1999 Ford pickup truck from the river.

Murray’s wife had filed a missing person’s report when he failed to come home after going out with some friends the night of Saturday, April 13.

Trooper Monica Hunter said it is not known yet if alcohol was involved in the accident. The King County Medical Examiner’s Office has yet to rule on the cause of death.
