SNOQUALMIE – As Snoqualmie begins work on its 2003 budget, the elimination of some public-safety expenditures is being considered.

The cuts were presented as steps to take toward balancing what city administrators have said is very tight budget.

Snoqualmie’s proposed 2003 budget has the city spending a little more than $20.1 million, which is close to the $20 million the city is expecting to spend by the end of 2002.

The $9 million in general-fund expenditures for the city in 2003, however, would eclipse 2002’s general-fund expenditures of $4.8 million.
