City Council mulls future site of city building

SNOQUALMIE – A recent Snoqualmie City Council decision to delay site work on the new fire station came as a result of some council member’s frustrations over what they perceived to be foot dragging by the city.

The city council voted 3-1 at its July 14 meeting to delay the site work for the new fire station pending approval of the city’s capital facilities plan by Mayor Fuzzy Fletcher, Councilwoman Marcia Korich and Councilman Dick Kirby.

The vote came after a motion proposed by Councilman Greg Fullington to determine the location of a new administration building was defeated. Fullington first proposed that the new administration building be placed at the site of the new fire station on Snoqualmie Parkway, and that it be completed by the end of 2005. He said his motion was a financial decision since he wanted to get work on the administration building done at the same time work is being done on the fire station.
