Chiropractor faces investigation

A North Bend chiropractor has been accused of having sexual relationships with two patients and routinely using an improper billing code to get paid by insurance companies for services not normally covered.
The state Department of Health in May accused Greg Pfiffner of North Bend of engaging in professional misconduct. The charges are not criminal but he could face sanctions including fines, counseling and training or limitations on his practice if the allegations are confirmed.
Pfiffner denied the allegations and said he believes they originated from a disgruntled chiropractor, Hillary Mower, who was dismissed in 2004 after working eight weeks at Pfiffner’s former Snoqualmie clinic. The state did not identify the source of the allegations, citing whistleblower protection laws.
