Burn Ban in effect
Published 3:29 pm Thursday, October 2, 2008
Effective midnight Monday, Sept. 13, and until further notice, all
land clearing, residential yard debris fires, burn barrels and recreational
fires are banned in King County.
The King County Fire Marshal’s Office has established this burn
ban with the recent onset of warmer, drier weather in the Puget Sound
area. This burn ban is established in coordination with Kitsap, Mason, and
Pierce counties, and the Washington State Department of Natural Resources.
Fires in state and federal campgrounds are still allowed if
maintained in an approved fire pit.
For updates on the burn ban status or for additional details, contact
the King County Fire Marshal’s Office at (206) 296-6675.
