Top-level players on the Champions Tour will hit the links through Sunday at TPC Snoqualmie Ridge golf course for the 2007 Boeing Classic.
Seventy-eight players will hit 54 holes of golf, vying for a $1.6 million purse, with $240,000 for the winner.
This is the third year that the tournament has been played at Snoqualmie Ridge, which was designed by golf celebrity Jack Nicklaus and opened in 1999.
The defending champion is golf celebrity Tom Kite.
More than 50,000 people attended each tournament over the past two years.
“It’s definitely our busiest two weeks of the year,” said course superintendent Rick Hathaway.
“This year, more than anything, is a chance to showcase our golf course to the whole world, to show what we can do.” Hathaway said. “It’s an opportunity that not a lot of superintendents get, to put their course on TV in front of 75 million people.”
