Between 6:15 and 6:30 a.m. Thursday, June 2, a vehicle crashed into the Fall City Roadhouse & Inn. There was no one inside the building at the time of the crash and the driver received only minor injuries.

Larkin Krahling, owner of the Fall City Roadhouse, said the driver was on the way to school when they missed the turn onto Preston-Fall City Road S.E. and collided with the building.

“They missed the turn at the intersection and drove straight through the building,” Krahling said.

King County Sheriff’s Deputy Sergeant Jason Houck said the airbags in the car deployed and the driver, who was briefly stuck inside the vehicle, walked away from the crash with minor injuries, but was still transported to a hospital in Issaquah. He said the driver will likely be ticketed for a traffic violation.

A King County Building Inspector was sent to the scene to assess the structural damage and has not reached a determination yet, Houck said.

“It took out a wall, the window and the booth, part of a cement staircase,” Krahling said. “There is quite a bit of damage, a whole section of the building is gone.”

Krhaling also said the the building inspector is planning to return for further evaluation and that they plan to reopen as soon as possible.

“We anticipate being closed today and possibly tomorrow,” she said. “We are trying to get open as quickly as possible.”
