Alert neighbor: At 10:18 p.m., the department received a report of a residential fire alarm called in by a neighbor, who said the home was being renovated and there didn’t appear to be a fire, but she couldn’t contact the homeowner. Firefighters arrived at the two-story home and heard the alarms but saw no sign of smoke or fire. They entered the home and confirmed there was no fire, but the home appeared to have a water problem in the attic, leaking onto a smoke detector that had been triggered. They investigated further and saw there was drywall damage. They removed the smoke detector and left a business card left for the contractor, then secured the house and left.

Grass fire: At 7:08 a.m., the department responded, with police, to a small grass fire at the end of Douglas Avenue in a vacant lot. No one was found in the area. They applied water to extinguish the flames and determined that the fire had not spread.

Pilot light: At 9:53 p.m., firefighters got a call from a citizen whose pool furnace pilot light had blown out. She was afraid propane would fill the garage and called the department. Firefighters secured the gas supply to the furnace and checked the garage for gas with a monitor, but found no problems. The home owner said she’d called a repair company, and a technician would be out the next day.

Medical aid: In addition to the above calls, Snoqualmie EMTs responded to nine medical aid incidents, bringing the total number of calls to date to 638.
