Letter: A hug from Kiwanis, to say thank you

Here’s a big hug to our wonderful community. Thanks to you 573 kids will have a wonderful Christmas this year.

Every year we are amazed at the kindness and generosity of this great valley. We had toys of all shapes and sizes and were able to fill the wish lists of many kids who may not have had Christmas without your help.

Kiwanis put up 36 trees in businesses, schools, credit unions, libraries, doctor offices, stores, real estate offices, restaurants, the police and fire stations, YMCA , the Eagles, the Moose, the TPC and Mount Si Golf Course, and every place there was room for a tree (find the listing of tree locations on Facebook at Snoqualmie Valley Kiwanis). Thank you everyone for your support.

Kiwanis also wants to thank the many organizations and individuals who offered their time and support to make our Christmas event a success: Ruth, Christine and Diane, the ladies who set up the Christmas store and spent hours making it run smoothly; Genie employees who spent days sorting toys, helping families shop and cleaning up when the event was done; Frankie’s Pizza for feeding our volunteers; the LDS church for offering us a site for our event; Susan, Nancy and Heidi at the Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank for developing a computerized sign up for families; Ace Hardware for their tree donations; the Girl Scouts for their collection and donation of coats; DAR for their donation of children’s books; the Mount Si Key Club for making our tree tags; Toys R Us for their toy donations; and the Mount Si Senior center for sharing their tables.

Thank you all. Merry Christmas
