Wildcats still in playoff picture

Even though it has been a struggle at times this season for the Mount Si Wildcats’ football team, there has been one constant that coaches and fans have been able to count on every week, and that is a solid, consistent effort on defense. The Wildcat defense once again delivered that solid effort, and it was critical to Mount Si getting a win that has rescued their playoff hopes for the time being.

Sean Snead scored two touchdowns as the Wildcats beat Liberty 14-7. “If our defense isn’t playing well, we’re going to struggle, and it’s nice. We were able to punch the ball in on the goal line tonight, which we’ve struggled with all season. Tonight, we did and I think we’re starting to come together now and, of course, our defense just hung in there,” said Mount Si coach Charlie Kinnune.

The victory enabled Mount Si to climb back into the postseason hunt. For the Wildcats to make the playoffs, they have to win at Interlake this Thursday, have the Issaquah Eagles lose to the Knights also on Thursday, then win the resulting three-team playoff with the Eagles and Patriots next week for the No. 4 spot.
