The Mount Si Wildcat girls’ soccer team opened the second half of their schedule last Tuesday and it was a big night for two young players who are poised to become stars in the program.

Freshman Alexis Pearlstein scored her first high-school goal, a game-winner, as the Wildcats took care of Mercer Island 2-1 to get a season sweep of the two games with the Islanders. Mount Si beat MI 3-0 on opening night of the season last month.

Pearlstein was pumped after the game. “Oh, boy. It was just like amazing, like it’s overwhelming. We played amazingly well. We all just like clicked tonight,” said the freshman, whose excellent play during the first half of the season finally paid dividends.
