The Mount Si boys’ soccer team was without one of their star players Tuesday, April 17, but used a consistent effort to post a win over Liberty.

Four different players scored goals in the 4-0 shutout victory. However, coach Darren Brown still believes there’s much work to do. “We’re still not where we want to be,” Brown said. “Even though we can see from the score, the second half we did a lot of things better, the first half was still where we were before, so once we hit that level of consistency for 80 minutes, then I’ll start saying some more positive things,” he added.

The scoring started early, under difficult circumstances. In the seventh minute, Wildcat Kevin Isackson collided with a Liberty player and fell to the ground, where he remained for several minutes before getting up and leaving the field under his own power, being aided by trainers the entire time. The junior did not return after having suffered a concussion in the incident. After play resumed, Matt Fujimoto took a rebound of a shot by Gibson Bardsley and pounded it into the net to put the Wildcats on top.
