Wildcats fall to Islanders, Liberty

Wildcat Cross Country


Despite a first-place finish by the Wildcats’ Alex Rudd, Mount Si fell to both Liberty and Mercer Island in boys’ and girls’ cross country last week.

Rudd finished the 3.2-mile course in a time of 19:38, beating second-place finisher Haley Piper of Mercer Island by a full 20 seconds. Katie Hogan finished 11th overall with a time of 21:38, and Jesserah Helm took 12th overall with a time of 21:44.

Other times posted by the Mount Si girls were: Julie Censullo, 22:56; Dannah Parsons, 23:31; Brooke Moorhead, 23:48; Wendy Hecker, 23:54; Geena Bumgardner, 24:00; Gabby Rader, 24:25; Chelsea Heinz, 25:28; Kayla Supkoff, 25:56; Jazzmine Benedict, 27:30; Chelsea Erlach, 29:23; and Cassady Weldon, 33:01.

For the boys, Drake da Ponte took fifth overall with a time of 16:28 followed by Owen Strom, who took seventh overall with a time of 16:40 and Max McDevitt, who took 10th overall with a time of 17:08. Other times for the boys were: Brett Duncan, 17:39; Zac Pearlstein, 17:41; Ben Josely, 18:15; Kinley Dunckel, 19:41; Zach Whetsel, 20:36; Sean Byrnes, 21:11; and Mik Metzler, 21:15.
