Wildcats conquer Mount Vernon in first round of the 4A state football playoffs

Mount Si will host the Puyallup Vikings in the Class 4A state quarterfinals.

The Mount Si Wildcats clinched a berth in the Class 4A state quarterfinals courtesy of a comeback 39-38 victory in the first round of the 4A state playoffs against Mount Vernon on Nov. 9 in Snoqualmie.

Mount Si senior quarterback Cale Millen went 33-for-47 through the air, passing for 387 yards and five touchdowns. Millen’s favorite target Jonny Barrett had 17 catches for 230 yards receiving and had four touchdown catches in the contest. Wildcats’ receiver Colby Botten hauled in five passes for 62 yards and had one receiving touchdown in the win. The Wildcats will host the Puyallup Vikings at 7 p.m. on Nov. 16 in the Class 4A state quarterfinals.
