Mount Si’s tennis season came to an end recently at the Kingco tournament, as all the singles and doubles competitors for the Wildcats made quick exits in the double-elimination tournament.

Singles players Josh Hamann and Azhar Khandekar both struggled in their matches. Hamann fell to Lake Washington’s Satoshi Masuura in the first round 6-0, 6-1, then was eliminated with a loss to another Kang, Nikola Lakic. Khandekar also found things to be tough, as he was shut out 6-0, 6-0 by Mercer Island’s Glen Kelton. The Mount Si player was then sent home for the season with a loser’s bracket loss to Lake Washington’s Arash Hafizi.

There was a bit better luck in the doubles, where top players Camden Foucht and Tyler Mrachek combined to form a pair for the Wildcats. They took Bellevue’s Felton Lou and Starr Wan to the full three sets before falling to the Wolverine duo, 7-5, 5-7, 6-3. Foucht and Mrachek were then eliminated with a loss to Liberty’s Kato’s, Sho and Ken.

Alex Pease and Jake Rouches paired up for the second Mount Si doubles team, and they fell to Bellevue’s Ben Liang and Myron Pak 6-1, 6-0 in their first match. The Wildcat pair then fell to Brandon Yan and Andrew Munoz from Liberty to close out their season.

Mount Si went winless this fall, and looks to build next season behind Foucht, who is expected to become one of Kingco’s top players before he graduates from Mount Si.
