The competitive runner who helped organize last year’s successful Snoqualmie Railroad Days run has formed a new local running club.

Sean Sundwall, the Snoqualmie man behindthe Railroad Days, St. Patty’s and Turkey Trot fun runs, started the Mount Si Running Club in response to the high amount of local interest in the three runs, which he promotes throughout the year. He plans to create a fourth run soon.

Sundwall said he has about 20 people already signed up for the club. His goal is to provide runners, regardless of their ability or fitness level, with the structure and motivation necessary to get the most out of running. Membership in this group is $40 per year. Participants get a free T-shirt and a membership card good for discounts to numerous Valley businesses.

The club meets once a week on Saturday mornings at Mount Si High School for group runs, which are tailored for runners’ individual needs. It also meets at other times of the year to discuss various aspects of the sport and also for social gatherings to meet others in the community who run.

More information, plus a sign-up form, is available at www.runsnoqualmie.com, by clicking on the “Mt. Si Running Club” tab.
