On May 14, the Cougar Mountain Trail Run series returns for a 14th season to King County Parks’ Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park.

Co-produced by Northwest Trail Runs and the Seattle Running Club, the race series has raised more than $155,000 for King County Parks since its inception.

Volunteer work groups organized by the Seattle Running Club spend an average of 150 hours each year doing trail restoration work, including improving trail surface conditions, invasive weed removal, and picking up trash.

“Our partnership with Northwest Trail Runs and the Seattle Running Club has brought thousands of runners to Cougar Mountain’s trails over the years and has benefitted all parks and trail users through this partnership’s fundraising and trail work,” said King County Parks Director Kevin Brown.

The series kicks off Saturday, May 14 with a choice of 5.1-mile, 10.8-mile, or 5K races. Additional race dates are Saturdays, June 11, July 9, Aug. 13 and Sunday, Oct. 30.
