Three from Mount Si qualify for state cross country championship

Mount Si High School’s boys and girls cross country teams took fourth and sixth place respectively in the team standings at the KingCo league championship meet, Saturday, Oct. 21 at Lake Sammamish State Park. They also qualified two boys and one girl for the state championship, coming up Saturday, Nov. 4 at Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco.

Joe Waskom, a junior, took third place in the boys 5K race, with a time of 15:58.52. Freshman Paul Talens placed 14th, claiming the last spot for state, with a time of 16:30.62.

Senior Chloe Cosgrove finished 9th in the girls 5K race, with a time of 19.23.88.
