Cormier leads `Cats with 33 points
The Mount Si Wildcats boys’ basketball team clinched
another win last Tuesday night against Cedarcrest 68-63 to add to
their lead in the 3A KingCo Valley Division.
Isaiah Cormier defended his reign as the leading scorer
in KingCo by scoring 33 points for the Wildcats. Cormier
currently leads the conference with 439 points for the season. Rob
Bishop, of Sammamish High School, is close behind with 422 points.
Cedarcrest wins narrow victory
Even Mount Si High School’s leading scorer on the girls’
basketball team, Moriah Hover, who also leads the league in
scoring, was unable to pull out a win for the girls’ basketball team in
last Wednesday’s game against Cedarcrest. They lost 3 -31.
Hover, who averages 16.3 points per game, only scored
six for the Wildcats. Nikki Landdeck led with 12 points with 15
rebounds, and Sarah Gustat had 10 points. Cedarcrest’s Rachel
Salz led with seven points, and Libbye Haddon and Lindsay
Peterson each scored six for the Red Wolves.
Mount Si holds off Sammamish
The Wildcats boys’ basketball team held off Sammamish last
Friday night 68-66 with the help of Isaiah Cormier’s 25 points
and Marc Dahm’s 22 points.
Sammamish’s Rob Bishop, who had been battling
with Cormier for the league scoring title, had 18 points for the
night, and Justin Tate had 19. Cormier successfully outshot Bishop
to lead the league with 464 points. Bishop followed with 440
points for the season.
Cedarcrest loses to Interlake
Demarco McDade’s 27 points, which included five
straight three-pointers in the third quarter, and Bryce Mackay’s 23
points for Interlake helped the No. 2-ranked Valley Division team
beat Cedarcrest 78-63 in boys’ basketball.
Interlake’s Jesse Napenias also helped in the Saints effort
with 11 assists for the night. Cedarcrest finished last in the
Valley Division’s 3A KingCo League with a 1-12 record.
Wolves down Saints
Sarah Gustat scored 15 points for Cedarcrest last Friday to
lead the team in a win against Interlake 50-38. The Red Wolves’
win marks this as the best regular season in school history. The
team finishes the Valley Division in third place with a record of 5-8.
The leading scorer for Interlake was Abby Linker
with 10 points. Ashley Cabulagan and Eileen Barnes each had nine.
