Mount Si’s tennis team closed out the season on Friday, May 8, falling to Liberty.
The Wildcats’ lone winners were in doubles, as Evelyn Sisk and Tristan Taylor rallied from a set down to win the second set. The pair then fought Liberty’s Anna Dalgardno and Audrey LaFraugh hard through a marathon third set, winning the decisive frame 16-14 to post the match victory.
The Patriots took the other eight matches. There were some nice efforts by Mount Si in those defeats, especially by Jodie Magnuson, Bailey Barnard and Natalie Knoetgen, all of whom gave their Liberty opponents challenges before falling.
Barnard and Kaitlyn Usselman fought well in their doubles match with Liberty’s Amber Eastham and Nicole Smith, but Mount Si’s best fell 8-6 to the Liberty pair.
In other action, the Wildcats fared well against Interlake Monday, May 4, winning three matches. Winners included Jodie Magnuson and Alix Crandell in singles, and the doubles pair of Anne Yang and Natalie Knoetgen. Against Issaquah Tuesday, May 7, Mount Si was swept, with Magnuson and Kaitlyn Usselman faring the best against Eagle opposition.
