Survive and advance: MSHS boys, girls hoops on to semi-finals

Wildcats girls and boys basketball teams will play next on Feb. 14

Both the Mount Si boys and girls basketball teams will play in the semi-finals of the KingCo/Wesco District Tournament on Thursday, Feb. 14. Winning would guarantee both teams advance to the state tournament.

After being named KingCo League Champs and getting a first round-bye in the district tournament, the boys team notched a 74-54 win over Lake Stevens to advance to Thursday’s semi-final.

The number 1-seed Wildcats will play 5-seed Mariner High School in the semis. The game is scheduled 7 p.m at Mount Si High School.

Girls

The Mount Si girls basketball team will also play a semi-final on Thursday, after knocking off 2-seed Glacier Peak in a 59-43 upset on Feb. 10.

That victory comes after the 10-seed Wildcats won their first-round match against Inglemoor, 39-36, on Feb. 8. Their semi-final match-up will will be held in Sammamish against 3-seed Eastlake on Feb. 14 at 7 p.m .
