Powerlifting meet coming to Issaquah

The 2006 Washington State Powerlifting Championships will be held on Saturday, March 25, at the Holiday Inn ballroom in Issaquah.

The meet will begin at 9 a.m. with the elite lifters, heavier weight men and all women competitors, lifting in the morning competition. Middleweight male lifters and novice lifters will lift in the afternoon session at 2 p.m. The public is invited. Admission is $5 at the door.

Over 80 competitors from all over Washington and some from other states will be competing in the squat, bench press and deadlift. The lifters range in age from 14 to 68. Some are accomplished world and national caliber lifters. Others will be lifting competitively for the first time. Among those lifting will be North Bend resident Richard Schuller, a silver medalist in the 2005 Masters World Championships.
